Memphis May Fire - "Carry On" Single Review

Memphis May Fire have spent the past year working on their 5th album. The first single, "Carry On", follows the standard set by last year's "My Generation" and "Stay the Course". The band are maturing into a class act, and we look forward to hearing the full album. "This Light I Hold" is set to be released October 28.

Of Mice and Men - "Pain" Single Review

A song whose title says it all. Of Mice and Men have been hard at work with this album for some time now. Following frontman Austin Carlile's heart surgery, they've been in the studio crafting their upcoming 4th album, "Cold World". The new release is set for a September 9, 2016 release date. In the meantime, the band have gifted fans with the lead single, "Pain".

SECRETS - "Waste Away" Single Review

Surprise! A month before SECRETS are set to hit the road for Warped Tour 2016, they release this unbelievable new track. That's right, only 6 months after the release of their 3rd album, "Everything That Got Us Here" SECRETS have surprised us all with this new track.

Issues - "Headspace" Review

A "new" take on "nu metal" (pardon the pun), Issues have fine tuned their sound, and are on their way to a mainstream crossover (at least we're guessing that's what they're aiming to do). This album isn't for metalheads, nor is it for rap-aficionados. It's for anyone willing to look past genre boundaries and try something new. 

Fair warning, this review is pretty long. The album is 13 tracks long, so there's a lot of ground to cover.

Overlook the fact that instead of giving us a new album, Rise is just pulling another "rerelease stunt. Because this new song from PVRIS is epic! Get ready for the best album from Hands Like Houses! Our favorite band from Canberra just released their 3rd album, "Dissonants". It comes highly recommended. Featured Band - Hands Like Houses

Hailing from Canberra, Australia's capital city, Hands Like Houses are our "Featured Band" for February. The Aussies will release their 3rd studio album next Monday, so if you haven't already pre-ordered it, and you're a fan, we suggest you go do so. "Dissonants" is set to be the band's finest release thus far, and we're all eager to hear it.

Hands Like Houses - "Colourblind" Single Review

Yes times about four thousand. Hands Like Houses' new album, "Dissonants" is shaping up to be one of the best releases of the year. The record's first two singles, "I Am" and "New Romantics" blew us away with their arena sized choruses and sick hooks. Now "Colourblind" has done it again. Best of the Artist - The Color Morale

It was hard not to just do a list on the best songs from the band's third album, but we've managed to diversify and include songs from all 4 of their albums. The Color Morale has been writing music together about 2006, but have only recently found major success. Their debut album, "We All Have Demons" was released back in 2009, and the follow-up, "My Devil in Your Eyes" in 2011. Then in 2013, the band made their breakthrough album, and underwent a number of changes. But they came out better than ever. Now working on material for the new year, we're happy to look back at their lengthy catalog of songs and pick our favorites.

Featured Post - SECRETS

This month's featured band released their 3rd album on Dec 11. And the title is very appropriate. SECRETS haven't had an easy road, and "Everything That Got Us Here" couldn't be a better testament to their abilities. They've lost members, had their fair share of road trouble, and are signed to Velocity/Rise Records, which by some standards is a headache all its own. SECRETS - "Everything That Got Us Here" Review

Possibly our last album review for the 2015 year! SECRETS will wrap up 2015 for us with their 3rd album "Everything That Got Us Here". The band has been slowly rising in popularity, and, to the delight of their record company, in sales. SECRETS signature blend of hardcore verses, memorable guitar riffs, and pop-influenced choruses doesn't sound like anything new. But their particular take on post hardcore has earned them a loyal fanbase. If you haven't already checked out this band, you're missing out. Click this (link) to buy the album on iTunes. SECRETS - "Rise Up" Single Review

The next single from SECRETS 3rd album is here! "Rise Up" follows "Left Behind", which was released about a month ago. The lead single reintroduced the band a second time to fans, having switched unclean vocalists during the recording process. The song featured a more mature, abet a Tyler Carter-esc clean vocal performance from Richard Rogers, and a powerful debut from new unclean vocalist Wade Walters, who is featured on bass for the "Rise Up" music video. To preorder the album on iTunes click this (link), and to read our review of the album's lead single click this (link). 

SECRETS - "Left Behind" Single Review

SECRETS lost original frontman Xander Bourgeois in 2013, and this October they announced that Aaron Melzer would be exiting the band after a 2 year stint. To the surprise of fans, SECRETS also announced that they had finished their 3rd album, but it was recorded with new frontman Wade Walters (I almost shit my pants because I thought his name was Wade Wilson and that would have been too much for me to handle). 

Set for a December 11 release date, we eagerly await the new album from this band. Though they have gone through many lineup changes, SECRETS have gotten better with time ("Fragile Figures" being on of the best modern post hardcore albums we've had the pleasure of listening to) To preorder their album on iTunes click this (link).

Hands Like Houses - "New Romantics" Single Review

After premiering the song while on Warped Tour 2015, Hands Like Houses have finally released the second single from their upcoming album, "Dissonants". Though the band hasn't revealed the album's release date, it will be released sometime in 2015. So we have roughly about 3 months left in the year, which means the album is coming very, very soon! Knuckle Puck - "Copacetic" Review

Knuckle Puck's debut record "Copacetic" is the epitome of pop punk. If you didn't already know what genre the band is, the album title should have given you an inclining. An up-in-coming band that has its origins in Chicago circa 2010, these fellows have kicked things off with a strong debut. After completing a run on Warped Tour 2015, the band have found themselves with a growing fanbase, and a surprisingly successful debut. Click this (link) to buy their album on iTunes.

Best of the Artist - Sleeping with Sirens

Part of our "Best of the Artist" series, this installment features Sleeping with Sirens. Lead by an almost irresistible frontman, Sleeping with Sirens have made quite the name for themselves. Unfortunately these days they’re more known for Kellin Quinn’s growing fandom, than the band’s music. So let’s count down their best songs, and remind people why we fell in love with SWS in the first place. A quick spoiler, notice how most of the top 5 songs are all from “Let’s Cheers to This”? We understand that everyone has their own opinion, so feel free to leave comments, butthurt or otherwise.

Though this single was released back in March, this is one review I've been dying to write. I love Hands Like Houses. Fan or not, you can't deny these guys are talented. Their upcoming 3rd album, "Dissonant", is set for a fall 2015 release date, so here's to hoping we get another single soon!
